Session FAQs

When should I book?

Booking well in advance for a family session is recommended! Check out my booking page to see what dates are available. Session dates are booked on a first come, first serve basis and only held once a retainer has been received. Please don’t wait if you are inquiring for a fall or spring date. These go really fast!

What happens if one of us is sick?

We’ll reschedule if you guys are sick, and we’ll also reschedule if I’m sick! Don’t ever feel the need to push yourself with me, it is more important to have everyone feeling and looking their best, however mild the symptoms are. Note that mini session cancellations will be rebooked as a family session as mini session prices are for the day of.

What if I miss or cant make my mini session time?

Because mini sessions are tightly scheduled and offered on limited dates, my first option will be to reschedule you into another mini session date if one is available. If no alternate mini session works, your retainer can be applied toward a full family session, and we’ll find a date and time that works best for both of us.

What if the weather forecast looks awful?

We live in VB, so there’s always a chance we’ll get a rainy forecast, no matter the season you book your session! If it is raining, we will reschedule your session. If the forecast looks wet, we can either make the call the night before, or play it by ear and wait til morning. I’ll be in contact in the days leading up to the session to chat about our options.

How would you like to be paid?

A retainer fee is required upon booking! After booking, retainers are non-refundable, as I am holding the date for you and turning away other clients.
Full payment for the session must be received on the day of the session. Cash or Venmo is great!

How long before I receive my photos?

Within 3-4 days I will share a couple of photos from your session as a sneak peek – this will sometimes go on Instagram / Facebook. Feel free to tag yourself or share with your friends/family.
Within 3-4 weeks of your session, you will receive your secure online gallery.

What should I wear?

The ultimate goal is that you FEEL amazing in whatever you wear, which means you also need to be comfortable. But, without a doubt there are choices you can make about what to wear that will make your session that little bit extra special to look back on.
Some tips:
Neutrals are timeless! But I get that may not be your aesthetic. I’m always happy to look at outfits and provide suggestions, let’s chat!

Flowy skirts / maxi dresses or simple, classic basics matched with textured overlays (kimonos, cardigans) photograph really beautifully.

Pretty, pretty please don’t wear shirts with big graphics / logos, / lettering – or mixing too many different patterns… and most importantly…Please don’t wear NEON

It’s always nice if your family can wear complimentary colors – but not matchy-matchy!! Mom, it’s great if you can pick your outfit first (take this opportunity to go out and buy yourself something you love and feel AMAZING in!) and coordinate the rest of the family around YOU.
